Our Staff
Our Welfare Officer and all our coaches are registered with British Fencing. All of them have updated First Aid, Enhanced DBS and Child Safeguarding certifications.
James Roberts
Head Coach
James started fencing with us in 1992. Back then Harry Jones was one of his coaches along with Jacky Faulkner.
As he got older James started to represent both his County and Region at both sabre and foil. He then took up sabre as his main weapon and under the tutelage of Peter Frohlich, Laszlo Jakab and Harry went onto represent both England and Britain.
He is now a full time coach, teaching at schools and clubs in the Bucks, Berks and Oxon area.
James has also been elected Chairman of Southern Region Fencing Association in July 2023.

Antonio Frulio
Head Coach, Club Admin
Antonio started his fencing career in 1995 in Italy. Under the tutelage of Nerses Yeghiazaryan, Armenian international champion, he won several local and regional medals.
He started coaching in 2012, and from 2015 he became a full - time coach working alongside Maestro Alberto Bernacchi at Scherma Desio. He also has a Master Degree in Social Work.
Antonio has also been elected Vice - Chairman of Southern Region Fencing Association in July 2023.
Catarina Silva
U12s Coach
Cat started fencing in 2014 with coach Carina Vicente and never stopped since then. In 2018 she started to help running the beginners' courses at Luso and after successfully passing the level 1 course, she has been involved in coaching the U12s fencers at Salle Eton as well.
In September 2023 Cat has also completed her level 2 coaching course and she is now also involved in supporting our fencers during local and national competitions.
